Minera San Cristóbal S.A. (MSC) is a Bolivian mining company. Since March 2009, MSC is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Japanese Sumitomo Corporation. The MSC San Cristóbal mine is located in the province of Nor Lípez in the department of Potosí, approximately 500 kilometers south of the city of La Paz and 90 kilometers southwest of Uyuni. San Cristóbal ranks as one of the largest deposits of zinc, lead and silver in the world. The operation produces zinc-silver and lead concentrates with subsequent shipment to international markets. MSC not only complies with Bolivian environmental standards, but also with the ones set forth by the ISO 14001 environmental management standards and strictly complies with the labor legislation in force in the country and applies the highest global standards for the health and safety of all employees.
