Mikro Kapital, a company incorporated under the law of Luxembourg, was founded in 2008 by the Italian banker, Vincenzo Trani.We are an asset management company that invests in creditworthy small and medium-sized enterprises with a low risk level. Our investments are mainly concentrated in Russia, the CIS and emerging countries (Asia and Latin America), where there are greater possibilities of acquiring small clients in need of assistance during their growth phase.Our Team, composed of highly-specialised professionals, has ensured constant, long-term growth for our company, helping us to become one of the main players in Russia and CIS countries. MISSIONOur mission is to facilitate economic growth in the countries where we operate, by ensuring financial flows to niche markets considered safe and profitable, by providing know-how, avoiding speculation and supporting, when possible, the continuous growth of small enterprises. Our objective is to increase the wealth of our investors.BUSINESS MODELMikro Kapital mainly operates through two funds: Mikro Fund and Alternative Fund. Mikro Fund invests in Russia and Belarus, while Alternative Fund provides resources in CIS countries (Moldova and Armenia), Europe (Romania and Italy), East Asia and Central America. Both funds invest through their direct network of ‘Mikro Kapital’ offices or through third parties, such as small, local financial institutions, leasing companies, banks or credit unions. During 2016, Alternative Fund launched an historic partnership with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), one of the most reliable and dynamic international financial bodies when it comes to the promotion and enhancement of entrepreneurial and market activities in Eastern Europe and Central Asia. Through this historic partnership, EBRD offers Alternative Fund the chance to co-invest in the finance of pre-determined countries. Since 2015, Mikro Kapital has been a partner of National Microcredit Agency.
