About Mid-Carolina Electric Cooperative, Inc.

Mid-Carolina Electric Cooperative is a not-for-profit, member-owned electric distribution utility headquartered in Lexington, South Carolina. For more than 80 years, we’ve brought our members advances that make a difference in their daily lives. From the original construction of power lines that carried electricity to rural areas needing it most to fiber optic internet and smart grid technology, Mid-Carolina delivers what matters and is deeply committed to the communities we call home.

Mid-Carolina is the fifth largest of South Carolina’s 20 electric cooperatives and serves more than 47,000 member-owners in Lexington, Richland, Newberry, Saluda and Aiken counties. Together these cooperatives deliver electricity to more than 500,000 members across 70 percent of the state.
