Manila Water

Manila Water Company, Inc. is the East Zone concessionaire of the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS) and is responsible for bringing water, sewerage and sanitation services to over six million customers in eastern Metro Manila and Rizal Province. It is a publicly-listed company and a subsidiary of the Philippine conglomerate Ayala Corporation. Manila Water has been acclaimed as a shining example of a successful public-private partnership in the Philippines and the international community. Operating under a 40-year concession agreement with the government starting in 1997, Manila Water puts a premium on customer service and sustainable development. Its mission is anchored on helping build communities and protecting the environment. With its social and environmental commitments perfectly aligned with business objectives, Manila Water continues to make significant improvements in operational efficiency and service quality. It has now given parallel focus in pursuing environmental initiatives particularly in wastewater management and climate change. Manila Water sets the industry standard in labor quality. It is the first Philippine company to win the prestigious Asian Human Capital Award from the government of Singapore, which recognizes companies for innovative and impactful human resource practices. In 2006, Manila Water was conferred the Employer of the Year award by the People Management Association of the Philippines and in 2010, the Pro-Active Achievement Hall of Fame award by the Department of Trade and Industry’s Center for Industrial Competitiveness. Going beyond the borders of Metro Manila, Manila Water has expanded its business operations to the rest of the country and region. Local expansion includes Laguna Province, Boracay Island, Clark Freeport Zone, Cebu Province and Zamboanga City. Manila Water has also established management contracts and investments in the Asia-Pacific Region particularly in Vietnam, Myanmar and Indonesia.
