From its beginnings in 1897 as a family-owned dry goods merchant to its current position as a leading international manufacturer and distributor of award-winning toys and children’s products, Battat Inc. has always remained committed to offering high-quality products at affordable prices. Established in Montreal, Canada in 1968 by Isaac Battat, the Battat company remains family-run and is now led by Joe Battat and Dany Battat. Battat began designing and manufacturing their own toys in the 1980s under the house brand name Battat. Early products included the popular TERRA™ line of animal figurines, including highly collectible dinosaurs sculpted by Dan LoRusso. In 1996 the company launched Our Generation®, the well-known line of 18-inch dolls with lifelike details focused on empowering girls through imagination and play. The iconic B.toys® brand was launched in 2010 and is now one of Battat’s most well-known and fastest growing product lines, recognized for its eco-responsible efforts as well as its modern design characteristics. Other prominent toy brands include Li’l Woodzeez®, DRIVEN™, Lori® dolls, and Glitter Girls. Today, over 12 brands are designed in-house by Battat’s team and responsibly manufactured in China. Children’s well-being is at the core of Battat’s company values, and the company supports various charity initiatives to help foster this value, including an ongoing partnership with the WE Charity. Since 2011, Battat has partnered with WE to adopt 9 villages (and counting!) in Haiti, China, Kenya, Ecuador, and beyond, creating positive impacts in the areas of education, water, health, food, and improved access to opportunity.
