Lutz Real Estate Investments (“LREI”) is a fully integrated real estate organization with a history that spans for more than fifty years. Throughout its history, the firm has positioned itself to profit despite the cyclical nature of real estate by investing in diverse property types and geographic locations.
The firm is comprised of a generational, seasoned, and dedicated team of professionals who specialize in the acquisition, financing, development, and enhancement of real estate assets. The experience gained by the first generation by operating in the 60s, 70s and 80s, fused with the knowledge gained by the second generation beginning in the 90s, has provided the foundation for long-term investment success.
In 2012, LREI turned its attention to the education sector with their first student housing portfolio purchase, and created an investment platform targeting infill student housing communities located near major universities. LREI set an acquisition goal of acquiring 1,000 beds per year, over the next five years. LREI targets somewhat older properties that are within walking distance to campus, at universities with at least 10,000 students and a favorable number of university controlled beds. To date, LREI owns and operates more than 2,900 beds at five major universities around the country.
LREI continues to exuberantly pursue future existing asset purchases and aims to exceed the 5,000 bed goal within the five-year time frame as previously determined by the LREI executive team.
