The Science of Light Therapy

RLT incorporates both red and blue light waves in narrow wavelengths specifically targeted at the cellular mechanism responsible for skin cell regeneration.

Renewal Light Therapy units employ arrays of low intensity light emitting diodes (LED's) of multiple wavelengths to activate skin cells with pulses of non-thermal light energy. When damaged skin is exposed to the LED array for the prescribed period, skin cells responsible for collagen and elastin production use the skin's own natural processes to convert the light energy into cellular energy.

Light Therapy as a Treatment for Acne

Light therapy has been shown to reduce bacteria in the pores by as much as 99% after only three consecutive treatments. Except in patients with porphyria, the treatments are proven to be safe. Patients who continue treatments for three months show a 76% to 80% improvement, outperforming Benzoyl peroxide, the traditional treatment for acne.
