London Arts Orchestra

London Arts Orchestra (LAO) was founded in 2009 and became a charity in 2010. Our musicians are students and recent graduates from London’s music colleges. LAO perform five concerts every season at our residency in Christ Church, Spitalfields. We endeavour to attract new audiences and possess one of the youngest followings of any London orchestra. This is achieved in part through our work in the community, hosting educational school workshops and inviting the public to open rehearsals. LAO is proud to be the only UK symphony orchestra devoted to cross-arts performance, past concerts featuring actors, artists, comedians, dancers and designers. This artistic fusion increases the music's accessibility and appeal to new audiences. We have a varied repertoire, ranging from classical masterpieces to modern day symphonic works. LAO is proud to work with internationally recognised soloists, most recently in February, performing Elgar’s Violin Concerto with Anna-Liisa Bezrodny.
