Liberty Shoes is acclaimed as one of the top footwear brands in India and internationally, with a presence in 25 countries across the globe. The brand has an amazing history, with a manufacturing capacity of 4 pairs a day in 1954 which stands at 50,000 pairs a day today. At present, Liberty has six manufacturing units and sells through 6,000 multi-brand outlets and 350 exclusive showrooms, in addition to 50 showrooms outside India. Starting as a small shop in 1954 and later inked as the brand Liberty in 1964, the journey has been a tremendous one for the brand that is recognized as one of the footwear leaders in the global market. The introduction of its sub-brand “Force 10” in the nineties was another major milestone in its journey as it brought an impressive product range for both the genders and all the age groups. Later, Liberty came up with numerous other sub-brands such as Gliders, Footfun, Senorita, Tiptop, Healers, Freedom, Coolers, Rebounce, Warrior, and more.A major expansion for the brand came in the 2000s, both in the manufacturing and retail segments. This led to a booming growth and Liberty witnessed a retail turnover of Rs 400 crores in the year 2002-2003. Following this, the Liberty Group went through a major restructure in addition to a revamp of its product portfolio in 2003. The manufacturing and retail segments were segregated in January 2004 and the brand set up its retail stores all over India. It also made an entry into the high-fashion domain by joining hands with leading fashion designers like Rohit Bal, Rina Shaka, Ashish Soni, Rohit Gandhi, and Suneet Verma to design footwear that matched their clothing lines.
