Hace más de 148 años, en Arequipa, segunda ciudad del Perú, nació Laboratorios Portugal, como parte de una empresa familiar conducida por Don José Fermín Portugal Puertas. Dicha organización, dedicada al Comercio y a la Industria, se concentraba en esa época en la conformación de un centro farmacéutico, al que inscribieron como J.F. Portugal Hijos S.A., la misma que expendería los productos desarrollados por el flamante Laboratorio.
Hoy en día, debido a su calidad, los productos de Laboratorios Portugal se encuentran en los cinco continentes, haciendo realidad un deseo acuñado desde sus inicios, elaborar productos de alta calidad al alcance de todo mundo y ser en una de las empresas más consolidadas del país.
Laboratorios Portugal produce en la actualidad más de 300 productos, en línea farmacéutica (sólidos, semi sólidos y líquidos), línea cosmética (entre las más importantes la marca Bahía, crema Concha de Nácar y la crema Caracol), línea de productos naturales, suplementos nutricionales, vitaminas, galénicos entre otros.
Desde hace 6 años venimos exportando en forma creciente, llegando a América del Norte, Centro y Sur; Europa, Asia y Medio Oriente.
