The Latin American Association of Insurance Agencies was founded in Miami in 1969 to unite and serve as a voice for independent insurance agents.Today, it is a strong network comprised of members of various backgrounds and different roles in the industry, including agents, insurance firms and other companies.The L.A.A.I.A. strives for an insurance environment that is healthy for agents and fair for consumers by working on the following areas:LegislativeTracking pertinent legislative issues and taking action for members through lobbying.EducationProviding members with insurance training and required continuous education seminars, all approved by the Department of Insurance.CommunicationBringing top expert and industry leaders to speak on insurance issues on every monthly member meeting. Providing informative quarterly newsletter and monthly website newsletter on the latest insurance trend to the membership.Community SupportThe L.A.A.I.A. is a volunteer Organization administered by an 11-member board of directors that meets monthly.L.A.A.I.A. also conducts a monthly membership meeting on the first Wednesday of each month.
