KSRTC as the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation is commonly known began its service from 1961 and since then has become one of the most reputed and popular surface transport operators amongst travelers from different cross sections of society. KSRTC is one of the few state road transport corporations that have been profitable year on year. KSRTC was the first road transport corporation to induct Volvo buses and is now the country's largest premium fleet operator.
