Katz Networks is an American media company with a portfolio of national over-the-air television networks, an SVOD service and a slate of original film and series productions, including The List, a daily syndicated lifestyle news program. The Atlanta-based company was founded in 2011 and was acquired by the E.W. Scripps Company in August of 2017. The four national networks (Bounce, Grit, Escape and Laff) each reach more than 90 percent of all U.S. households and are among the fastest growing in television today, with a programming mix of original and off-network series, theatrical and original motion pictures, specials, live sports and more. The company’s subscription video-on-demand service, Brown Sugar, features an extensive library of classic black movies, un-cut and commercial-free, and available to stream via phone, tablet, computer and more.
