About KATCO JV LLP
Founded in 1996, KATCO Joint Venture LLP conducts exploration and mines the Muyunkum uranium deposits located in Southern Kazakhstan, about 300 km north of Shymkent. Shareholders are Orano (51%) and Kazatomprom (49%).
We employ around 1,200 employees: 72% of them are from the south of Kazakhstan, which makes KATCO the largest employer of the region. Being socially responsible uranium mining company, KATCO gives help to social and vulnerable groups and needy inhabitants of the Sozak district.
KATCO, having experienced professional staff and applying high working and safety standards, is considered as forefront industrial model in the country and one of the largest and most successful enterprises on uranium production in the world.
