Karadeniz Technical University (KTU), established on May 20, 1955, in Trabzon, Turkey, holds the distinction of being the fourth oldest university in the country and the first to be founded outside of Istanbul and Ankara. The university's journey began with the establishment of its foundational faculties—Natural Sciences, Civil Engineering-Architecture, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, and Forestry—on September 19, 1963. Just a few months later, on December 2, 1963, KTU commenced its educational activities, marking the beginning of a rich academic tradition.
