Kansas City, Kansas is the third largest city in the State of Kansas and is the county seat of Wyandotte County. It is also the third largest city in the Kansas City Metropolitan Area. The city is part of the "Unified Government" which also includes the cities of Bonner Springs and Edwardsville. As of the 2000 census, the city population was 146,867.
