Shawnna was on her eighth day of no sleep, her 2-month-old wouldn’t stop crying and she was suffering from postpartum depression and anxiety. Then, she met someone who would change her life. Through home visitation services at Kansas Children’s Service League (KCSL), Shawnna found the emotional support that helped her fight feelings of isolation and the concrete resources that helped her family overcome adversity.At KCSL, we serve Kansas families like Shawnna and her son, Havick, to create stronger, safer communities for children. We are dedicated to providing services and advocacy efforts that prevent child abuse, strengthen families and empower parents and youth.KCSL is a statewide not-for-profit agency providing a continuum of programs and services, advocating for children and collaborating with other public and private agencies for increased effectiveness, efficiency and quality. Founded in 1893, our programs touch more than 40,000 children and families each year.
