In 2017, Rainbow Health Initiative and Minnesota AIDS Project announced we were joining forces to create an organization to lead the work to achieve health equity for diverse gender, sexual, and cultural communities. Our new organization is called JustUs Health, and we envision a Minnesota where people from diverse gender, sexual, and cultural communities experience health and wellness in powerfully inclusive environments.We are JustUs Health: Empowering our diverse communities to live long and healthy lives. We are JustUs Health: Connected. Compassionate. Innovative. Strong. We are JustUs Health: Together, we are reshaping the healthcare landscape in Minnesota.JustUs Health references health justice. It means we will continue the work we currently do: conducting groundbreaking research on the health of LGBTQ communities and changing health systems to end disparities for LGBTQ people. It also means, we are committed to achieving health equity for communities that need us most. JustUs Health means we are creating health spaces just for us: for LGBTQ communities that still experience discrimination in health care, for people living with HIV, and for people disproportionately affected by HIV including women and communities of color. As a first step toward creating powerfully inclusive spaces just for us, we have formally launching a new behavioral health clinic with a focus on chemical and mental health for people living with HIV and LGBTQ communities.
