Jones Vargas was formed in 1997 by the merger of two celebrated Nevada law firms, Jones, Jones, Close & Brown, a firm with deep roots in early Las Vegas, and Vargas & Bartlett a firm that traces its beginnings to 1928 when then Lieutenant Governor Morley Griswold opened a law office in Reno.Over the years, the firm’s stockholders have included governors, lieutenant governors,members of the state senate and assembly, judges, state bar presidents, governors of the American Bar Association, community leaders, and hotel, utility and casino executives.
