Joliet Catholic Academy, located at 1200 N Larkin Ave, Joliet, IL, is a distinguished Roman Catholic college preparatory co-educational high school that has been shaping young minds since its inception. Sponsored by the Carmelites and the Joliet Franciscan Sisters, the academy is deeply rooted in a rich heritage that dates back to 1869 when the Joliet Franciscans opened St. Francis Academy for young women. This was followed by the establishment of DeLaSalle High School for boys nearly 50 years later, founded by the Christian Brothers. In 1933, the Carmelites took leadership of DeLaSalle, renaming it Joliet Catholic High School. These three institutions laid the foundation for what would become Joliet Catholic Academy, officially established on July 1, 1990.
