JAMA Internal Medicine is an international peer-reviewed journal providing innovative and clinically relevant research for practitioners in general internal medicine and internal medicine subspecialties. We strive to publish articles that are stimulating to read, educate and inform readers with the most up-to-date research, and lead to positive change in our health care systems and the way we deliver patient care. JAMA Internal Medicine is a member of the JAMA Network family of journals, which includes JAMA, 11 JAMA Network specialty journals, and JAMA Network Open. The journal is published online every week on Mondays, an in print/online issues 12 times a year. Without any author fees, all research articles are made free access online 12 months after publication on the JAMA website. In addition, the online version is freely available or nearly so to institutions in developing countries through the World Health Organization's HINARI program.The editor of JAMA Internal Medicine is Rita F. Redberg, MD, MSc, University of California San Francisco School of Medicine, San Francisco, California. Dr Redberg leads a team of recognized and respected experts who serve as deputy, associate, and section editors and as members of the journal's editorial board.
