Isabel Hospice

Everyday of every week of the year, Isabel Hospice provides specialist end of life care for patients and their families living with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses in eastern Hertfordshire.Our vision is of a world where communities talk openly about death and dying. Everyone lives life to the full and dies with dignity in the place of their choice knowing their loved ones are supported.Did you know that the word ‘Hospice’ can be used as an adjective, not just a noun? We are not simply a building where people go to die, we are a whole philosophy of care.We support our patients at our In-Patient Unit, in their own home, where many of our patients want to be, and with our ‘Living Well with Isabel’ services, supporting those in our care to to make the best of the rest of their lives.We also support families and friends of our patients with a full range of services from our multi-disciplinary Family Support Team. These include adult and child bereavement services, welfare benefits advice, and art therapy.Last year we cared for 1,349 patients and 2,514 family members.
