Mission: IAL empowers students in Inwood and Washington Heights to become agents for change through community-focused leadership, character development and college preparedness. Vision: We regard our students as burgeoning assets to their community and are prepared to help them develop the leadership tools they need to be successful in college and beyond. This vision encompasses three goals: 1. Ensure all students graduate reading, writing and doing math at or above grade level; 2. Ensure all graduates are accepted to, and prepared to attend, 4-year college without remediation; 3. Ensure our graduates are young men & women of good character, with outstanding leadership ability.
