About International Planned Parenthood Federation/Western Hemisphere Region (IPPF WHR)

IPPF WHR works with 50 partner organizations, in 40 countries across the Americas and the Caribbean. Our local partners are autonomous, local organizations that share a common mission: to ensure the fulfillment of sexual and reproductive rights for all, including universal access to high-quality sexual and reproductive health services and comprehensive sexuality education. In 2015, IPPF/WHR’s partners provided more than 31.5 million services across the Americas and the Caribbean, averted over two million unintended pregnancies and provided access to a wide range of services including contraception, breast and cervical cancer screening, HIV treatment, and safe abortion. IPPF/WHR partners also facilitated 19 country-level policy changes. The IPPF/WHR Regional Office connects our partners to the global movement for sexual and reproductive rights and ensures their long-term sustainability by providing technical assistance in areas such as program planning, organizational development, and fundraising. Together, we build strong institutions and healthy communities throughout the region.
