Idec was founded in 1976 and became a limited company in 1977 out of the partnership that existed between the directors and the joint shareholders. This new company, located in Teesside, the heartland of Chemical and Steel manufacturing specialised in Instrumentation and Electrical Engineering Design and Project Management. Since then the company has greatly expanded in experience and activity and has served a broad spectrum of industry both throughout the UK market and overseas. During its growth a number of specialist companies were formed to add to its portfolio, giving us a wider scope of supply and more accountability. Details of these companies are as follows:- Idec Technical Services Limited was formed in 2003 thereby restructuring the group into two main categories:- •Control System Integration i.e. PLC, DCS, SCADA, Telemetry and Communications. •Electrical High Voltage Protection Systems and Electrical Distribution, Fault Level Studies and Sub Station Design. Idec Power Services Ltd was formed in 2011 as a specialised Contracting Company in the field of HV Sub Station Installation and Commissioning. Idec Technical Products Ltd was formed in 2011 to develop and expand its products allied to the transport sector such as Airport and Railway systems.
