About I-Con Science Fiction Convention
ICON Science Fiction, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit volunteer educational organization. It sponsors and oversees the annual I-CON Science Fiction Convention.
ICON Science Fiction Inc. and the I-CON Science Fiction Convention foster education and exploration in science and technology by harnessing America's fascination with science fiction and fantasy. Each year we host a three day festival designed to encourage literacy, creativity and interest in science and technology through science fiction and its related genres called I-CON, short for "Island Convention." Programming at I-CON spans a wide range of topics and interests, including science fiction, fantasy, horror, animation, hard science and technology, comic books, reenactment and historical programs. In addition, it's parent organization ICON Science Fiction Inc. provides funds to local students and educational institutions on a yearly basis to further promote these aims.
