Hitotsubashi University is a Japanese national university corporation.The University’s mission is to “develop leaders who willcreate intellectual and cultural assets that contribute to buildinga free and peaceful Japanese and global political and economicsociety,” and it has been leading Japan’s social science researchand education. In particular, the University has a strong recordof academic research in practical science, such as studies thatcontribute to problem resolution and institutional reforms inthe Japanese and global social, economic, and legal systems,and studies that lead to corporate management innovation. Inaddition to contributing to societal improvements, the Universityhas emphasized on basic and applied research, which are thefoundations of practical science.
