Hampshire Cricket

Hampshire Cricket Club was founded in 1863. The Club has tasted LV= County Championship success twice in its history; 1961 and 1973. However more recently, Hampshire have rapidly become one of the most consistent One-Day sides in the country with List A Cup victories in 2005 and 2009 the start of an extremely successful period for the Club. Hampshire secured their first domestic Twenty20 cup victory in 2010 with a victory over Somerset before 2012 was a 'double' winning year with the Club winning the List A and Twenty20 domestic cup competition. Since 2000, the club have played their cricket at The Ageas Bowl. Not only is The Ageas Bowl the home of Hampshire Cricket but the venue has also played host to England Internationals against the world's best. This year, the ground will host the Investec Test Match between England and India, starting on Sunday 27 July. However, The Ageas Bowl is about more than just cricket. The ground has hosted arena-scale shows from the likes of Oasis and REM in previous years and in 2014 multi-million selling artist, Barry Manilow, will perform for one night only on on Saturday 24 May 2014.
