The mission of Groupement des assureurs automobiles (GAA) is to guarantee access to automobile insurance and to simplify the settlement of claims.
History
In 1978, Quebec set up a new automobile insurance plan. At the time, the government asked automobile insurers to develop various mechanisms to improve the insurance plan for property damage.
This major reform gave rise to Groupement des assureurs automobiles (GAA). Since it was first created, GAA has guaranteed the liability insurance required by law, streamlined how auto claims are settled and reduced the cost of automobile insurance in Quebec.
All auto insurers doing business in Quebec are members of GAA.
