Grey Island is among the very first real-time Internet-based GPS/AVL application companies in North America. In 1998, the company launched its flagship product InterFleet tracking EMS vehicles on a live screen showing vehicles updating on a standard 100m/10 second update basis. Using the application service provider (ASP) model, it has gone on to specialize and become a market share leader in state and local government fleet operations. In 1995, Grey Island acquired NextBus, Inc (nextbus.com). Recipient of Profit 100, Fast 50, Fast 500 awards for corporate growth including 2009. In 2009, Grey Island delisted from the TSX Venture Exchange (TSX-V:GIS) and became a wholly owned subsidiary of WebTech Wireless (TSX : WEW) dedicated to telematics for government markets.
