About Greater Columbus Rowing Association

The Greater Columbus Rowing Association was founded in 1984 as a tax exempt not-for-profit organization. GCRA was incorporated as “The Greater Columbus Rowing Association, Inc.” in the fall of 1984 when its Articles of Incorporation were approved by the Ohio Secretary of State. GCRA’s charter number is 643984. The incorporators and original trustees were Miles C. Durfey, Albert Bishop, J. Patrick Dennis and Robert D. Oldfield III. The first statutory agent was Miles C. Durfey.

Mission

The Greater Columbus Rowing Association (GCRA) is a non-profit, volunteer-based adult organization dedicated to providing its diverse membership safe sculling and sweep rowing opportunities, from beginner to competitive levels. GCRA is committed to promoting and fostering interest in the sport of rowing through programming, through teaching and by organizing regattas.
