Information
The Great Western Air Ambulance Charity, one of the few air ambulances in the country to work for the Gold Standard Critical Care Model. Put simply it means we are a flying accident and emergency department transporting a specialist paramedic (Critical Care Paramedic) and senior doctor to the scene of an incident. The GWAAC Critical Care Team cover Bristol, BANES, North Somerset, South Gloucestershire, Gloucestershire and parts of Wiltshire. A population of 2.1 million people. The team fly seven days a week, 365 days a year and attend over 100 incidents per month. We provide one of the busiest air ambulances in the UK.We receive no government or national lottery funding so completely rely on the communities we serve to help us raise over the 3 million we need each year.
