Georgia United Credit Union - one of the nation's largest & strongest credit unions - was previously known as Georgia Federal Credit Union until our conversion from a federal charter to a state charter credit union in December, 2010. Georgia United welcomed State Employees Credit Union of Atlanta via merger in May, 2011 which helped us grow to become the $1.1 Billion financial cooperative we are today. Georgia United has 19 branches, over 230 employees, and 150,000+ member-owners across the state. Georgia United was originally chartered as the DeKalb County Teachers Federal Credit Union in 1958 but now serves 500+ companies, all State of Georgia agencies, Board of Regents colleges & universities, adult & technical ed schools, 11 county school systems, members of the Catholic Archdiocese of Atlanta, and the faculty, staff, students and alumni of the University of Georgia.
