The Georgia Department of Audits and Accounts is one of the largest auditing organizations in the Southeast with nearly 260 team members. We are a committed team of professionals that strive to make a positive impact in the way government conducts business. Our mission is to provide independent, credible audit services promoting improvement in government. Our overarching vision is to drive excellence through leadership and innovation. Both our mission and vision keep us on track to perform with integrity and exceed the expectations of our internal and external clients. We provide audit and assurance services for state agencies and state-funded programs, local government, education agencies, and nonprofit organizations that contract with the state. In addition to these activities, we analyze legislation to determine the impact on state revenues and expenditures. And, we prepare the Statewide Equalized Adjusted Property Tax Digest for each county and the state as a whole, which helps determine how funding for Quality Basic Education (QBE) is distributed throughout the state.
