GAERG: Groupe des Anciens Etudiants Rescapés du GénocideGAERG is an organisation founded by Rwandan graduates Genocide survivors in 2003 with a vision of creating a world free of Genocide.GAERG strives to ensure a dignified preservation of the memory of the genocide against Tutsi, capacity building through education and socio economic development, advocacy for its beneficiaries, developing a strong survivor’s network and restoring families to overcome the post genocide consequences. Objectives of GAERG include:Strengthening the capacity of its members to cope with problems related to trauma, justice, security, and social economic problems.Identify, and advocate for socio-economic problems faced by survivors of Genocide against the Tutsi by promoting GAERG members mutual material and moral support.Educating people to fight against the ideology of genocide in Rwanda and elsewhere in the world.Preserve the memory of Genocide, by collecting and conserving the testimonies and any other evidence of genocide in a secure and sustainable way for the future generations.Strengthening the cooperation with national and international organizations fighting for the genocide.Keeping, enhancing and increasing the production of the survivors, of genocide from their properties.
