The Neighborhood Policing Bureau, which responds to the vast majority of calls for service, is divided into nine separate geographical patrol zones covering the 17.4-square-mile City of Fort Pierce. The bureau is commanded by Captain Gregory Kirk, and is the uniformed patrol force for the city. It is the largest division of the police department and provides first response to all emergencies, performs preliminary investigations, and provides basic patrol services to our residents.
The bureau, recently restructured, consolidated the department’s patrol division under the leadership of one captain supported by one secretary, four patrol lieutenants, eight sergeants and more than 50 police officers. The bureau operates out of the Willie B. Ellis Substation, 1220 Avenue D.
