After the Second round of lay-offs in high cost countries, I was now off to do consulting something I started doing when I was out of college, but felt I needed big company experience before I could have the skill set to be effective and knowledgeable. So I really enjoyed coming into an organization, understanding their needs, and delivering the type of reporting required. Most companies needed help with running forecast, planning, and consolidating the results with assumptions and take aways. I was very good with this in any type of company.I then was offered a Director of Finance at Flextronics/Solectron and $30 Billion combined company. It was like a big company start up since the merger/acquisition was not complete and complete chaos existed. I was able to create a a team, developed reporting that allowed management to reduced spending by 30% across the company (the first time without layoffs) and setup standard reporting to management in near real time delivery. With India starting our mechanical variance analysis and we came to the office to complete the commentary and insights and present to the area VP. After 10 years at my prior company I found a business unit controller position where was able to combine all of my talents and support a GM with reports by product line which allowed for margin analysis and thus actions to improve to eliminate a product.. I loved the position, until the company was bought out and all were let go.Spent 10+ Years a Seagate Technology in various Financial roles. Setting up Financial Reporting for a new site, learning product cost system and automating it, developing my team and my international Assignment. Prior to this I was in various small software companies in entry level to CFO of small software developer where I setup an office in Paris France.
