In the Fayette County Public Schools, we believe that "it's about kids." Our school district, which is comprised of 66 schools and special programs, exists to serve more than 40,000 students from the Lexington metro area, and every decision we make – from the board room to the classroom – is based on doing what's best for our kids. We are the second largest school district in Kentucky and the third largest employer in the eight-county central Kentucky region. "It's About Kids" Support Services is focused on supporting our students, employees, families, schools and community. We provide help for students, assistance for classroom teachers, guidance for school leaders and consultation for families, in addition to district administrative functions – such as human resources, financial services, facilities, maintenance, operations and transportation. We also work to keep everyone informed about the happenings in the district, to foster relationships with family organizations and to build partnerships with community groups.
