Family YMCA of Medicine Hat

In 1960, the Medicine Hat YMCA was a traditional health and recreation facility only. In the late 1980s the YMCA was more involved with camping, education, childcare, and other areas beyond health and recreation. Today, the Medicine Hat Family has evolved into an organization that provides numerous programs and services for people of all ages and abilities within our community. There are 6 physical buildings the YMCA operates programs and services: Downtown, South Ridge, John Millar Day Care, Crescent Heights Day Care, YMCA YouthWORKS and YMCA Camp Elkwater. Each year, thousands of Hatters are involved in the YMCA through health, fitness, and recreation programs, youth leadership, childcare, Youth & Adult education, Day Camps and Residential camping. Our Mission The Medicine Hat Family YMCA, a charity supported by volunteers, is devoted to enriching our community by providing services to people of all ages within a safe, healthy environment that enhances personal wellness.
