Family Care International (FCI) is dedicated to making pregnancy and childbirth safer worldwide. Every two minutes, a woman dies needlessly from complications of pregnancy or childbirth. For a quarter century, Family Care International has worked to end this slow-motion catastrophe. FCI fights for commitment and funding to save women's lives, and works with communities to raise awareness, create innovative solutions and tools, and implement effective programs. One of the world’s leading voices for maternal and reproductive health, FCI has active programs in 18 countries and 5 field offices in Africa, Latin America, and the Caribbean.
