The Faculty of Economic Sciences became operational on September 16, 1960, when the Filial of the Universidad Comunal del Centro based in Huancayo was established in Lima. The Lima subsidiary called for admission exams for August 1960, starting classes on September 16 of that year. The initial Faculties were: Trade, Accounting, Actuarial Calculation Economics, Statistics and Finance Public and Private Administration Aquaculture and OceanographerAs of April 1961, two more powers operated: Education Architecture. Thus began its activities our Faculty with the name of Economics, Statistics and Finance; Dr. Carlos Manuel Cox was his dean.carlos. Following administrative, economic and academic problems in the first months of 1961, the government appointed a commission to submit a report suggesting the most appropriate measures. On 10 November 1961 the committee presented its report recommending, among other points: The need to Rationalize the Community University of Central Peru, Recognize the autonomy of the Lima Branch. Subsequently, after extensive efforts before the Congress of the Republic, Law No. 13827 of 02 January 1962 was enacted, appointing a Commission - according to Article 4 - which had, among others, that of determining the Faculties, Professional Schools and Institutes to be operational in 1962. On the other hand, article 7 of the Law ratified the Lima Branch as a State Institution, transferring its premises to Av. Uruguay 251, with the Faculties of Education, Architecture, Economics and Administration. The latter had as his dean the Engineer Humberto Espinoza Uriarte. On October 18, 1963, Law No. 14692 was promulgated that created the National University Federico Villarreal, and with this law also was born our Faculty with the name of Economic and Commercial Sciences which, today, is known only as the Faculty of Sciences Economic.
