In 1958, Eldridge R. Lewis set out on a simple agricultural ditch-digging operation in rural Pitt County, North Carolina with two dump trucks and a dragline. With common sense, persistence, and grit, he combined his understanding of site work mechanics and business with the administrative sense of his wife, Velma, and fashioned his small business into a full-fledged site work and utilities construction firm. Today, Harvey R. Lewis manages and cultivates the fruits of his father's legacy.
