Information
At EDC We Build Confidence Engineered Devices Corporation was conceived in the late 1970s, originally established as a forming and shoring business to serve the New York Metropolitan market. In 1981, the company expanded by acquiring inventories from the Adria Corporation and DIC Concrete Corporation. Operating from a modest location in the South Bronx, EDC quickly developed a strong customer base. in 1984, the company acquired the assets of the Federal Shoring Corporation, extending its market into eastern Pennsylvania. In 1986, EDC began production of wire and metal building products when it acquired the manufacturing assets of the Hico Corporation of America, including Hico’s rental inventory. That same year EDC moved to its present Corporate Center in Ridgefield Park, New Jersey and the next year opened its present fabrication plant in Hazelton, Pennsylvania. Soon after, the company began production of Mechanical Splices for Reinforcing Steel, an operation that’s grown into one of the largest Threading Centers for Rebar in the Northeast. Throughout its first 20 years, EDC has operated as a closely held family business and is now managed by fourth generation, experienced concrete industry people. From the family’s early days at the turn of the century as Royal Fireproofing Corporation, the Limbardo Family has had a continuous and successful presence in the concrete construction industry. As we enter the 21st century, EDC has evolved into a leading producer and supplier of shoring and building products on the East coast of the United States. With its extensive rental inventory of shoring and forming equipment and its “in house” ability to manufacture on a “customer demand” basis, EDC continues to build customer confidence. EDC will continue to provide quality service to its customers and welcome new opportunities to serve you.
