Elco Ltd. (ELCO) began operations in 1949 as a manufacturer of small distribution transformers. Through mergers and acquisitions, the company has grown and diversified tremendously over the years, and is now a leading Industrial Group with four main subsidiaries conducting a wide range of business activities.Generating an annual turnover of US$2 billion in 2012, Elco is one of Israel’s largest Industrial Groups, with a total global workforce of over 7,000 employees. Approximately 75% of the consolidated group’s sales are generated from Israel, with a strong presence in North America. The group’s main areas of activity are conducted through separate business units incorporated into distinct legal entities.
