The DVA is an executive Agency within the Department of the Environment (DOE) in Northern Ireland and was launched on 1 April 2007 under the auspices of the Review of Public Administration by the merging of Driver and Vehicle Licensing Northern Ireland (DVLNI) and the Driver and Vehicle Testing Agency (DVTA).
