Direct Aid started in 1981 by Dr. Abdul Rahman Al Sumait "from Kuwait" as a voluntarily non-governmental institution interesting in the development in Africa & after world wide.Direct Aid Internationally:- A member in the United Nations, and the consultative, economic and social council.- With diplomatic identity in a number of countries by virtue of agreements with the Ministries of Foreign Affairs in these countries.Achievements of the Society:- Constructing and operating 260 clinics.- Constructing and operating 4 hospitals.- Constructing and management of 260 regular schools from kindergarten till high school.- Constructing and running of 3 universities including several academic specializations.- Digging more than 18,568 of surface and artesian water wells to provide the clean water to the population of villages and poor areas.- Constructing and running of 63 centers for training and habilitation of women.- Constructing of 10 broadcasting stations in Africa and running of broadcasting programs in 17 countries.- Constructing and running of 5130 religious institutes.- Financially support more than 2,000 teachers.- Maintaining more than 70 thousand orphans. Number of our orphans became physicians, engineers, lawyers who hold high positions in their states.
