On January 1, 2016 two new state agencies were established: the DanishGeodata Agency and the Danish Agency for Data Supply and Efficiency. The new Danish Geodata Agency (GST) is responsible for the Danish landregister, which constitutes the legal record of properties in Denmark andforms the basis of the sale, mortgaging, valuation and taxation of realproperty in Denmark.The GST is also responsible for hydrographic charting and mapping for the use ofnavigation within shipping and leisure sailing in Danish, Greenlandic andFaroese waters. This includes responsibility for the sale and distributionof marine data and products in Denmark and Greenland.Concerning both the property and maritime areas the GST focusses onpromoting collaboration across the public sector with a view to providingcitizens and companies with the best possible service and facilitatingefficient problem solving across the public sector.The Danish Geodata Agency moved to Aalborg in November 2016 and is located at Lindholm Brygge 31 9400 Nørresundby.
