Covenant House New Jersey

Covenant House New Jersey (CHNJ) is a shelter for homeless youth aged 18-21. In addition to food and shelter, we provide a wide array of customized services including medical, mental health, educational, vocational and life skills guidance and support to the youth we serve designed to help transition them to stable, independent living. We have residential crisis centers in both Newark and Atlantic City serving about 40 youth in each facility each night. We also have transition apartment living arrangements serving roughly 46 youth each night in Newark, Atlantic City and Montclair. We also provide beds each night and specialized services for 12 homeless pregnant mothers in our Mom's and Babies program at Raphael's Life House in Elizabeth. We provide specialized mental care services to 8 homeless youth each night at Nancy's Place in Montclair. Between residential, day services and outreach work, we touch the lives of approximately 2,000 to 2,500 homeless youth in NJ each year.
