Communicorp Group Ltd. was formed in 1989 by Irish entrepreneur Denis O’Brien. Radio operations launched in Ireland in the same year and followed with stations in the Czech Republic in 1992. Based in Dublin, Ireland, Communicorp has grown to become a major player in the Irish and European media and telecommunications market. With over 3.5 million listeners per week, Communicorp’s radio stations cover many formats from Hot AC to Chart/Dance, from News to Country. Communicorp is unique among pan-European radio groups, pioneering in the sphere of local-language music radio in Bulgaria, as the stations continue to explore and create new possibilities for the medium of radio. In February of 2014, Communicorp acquired 8 regional radio stations from Global in the UK forming CommunicorpUK. CommunicorpUK is now the newest and fourth largest radio group in the United Kingdom.
