Christian values. Character. Hard work. Financial responsibility. These comprise the fundamental building blocks of the "Hard Work U." experience. C of O is committed to its founding mission of providing quality, Christian education to those who are found worthy, but lack resources to obtain such training. Instead of paying tuition, students work campus jobs in exchange for a tuition scholarship. Upon complete participation in the Work Education Program, the College guarantees to meet the entire tuition cost of for students, allowing them the opportunity to graduate debt-free. The College openly discourages debt and does not participate in loan programs. Students with the highest levels of financial need may work during the summer when class is not in session to pay for room and board. Goals:Academic: To provide a sound education, based in the liberal arts.Cultural: To cultivate an appreciation of the fine arts, an understanding of the world, and adherence to high personal standards.Christian: To foster the Christian faith through the integration of faith with learning, living, and service.Vocational: To promote a strong work ethic, encouraging the development of good character and values.Patriotic: To encourage an understanding of American heritage, civic responsibility, love of country, and a willingness to defend it. Vision:The vision of College of the Ozarks is to develop citizens of Christ-like character who are well-educated, hard-working, and patriotic.
